How to connect Meta Ads and Google Ads to Claude, step by step

How do I connect my Meta Ads and Google Ads accounts to Claude so I can ask about my campaigns?

Once your ad accounts are connected to Claude, a question like "which Meta and Google campaigns lost return on spend this week, and what changed in them?" gets answered in a minute instead of an afternoon of exports. The connection itself is quick. The choice that matters is which connection, because there are now three good routes and they give Claude very different data to work with.

How Claude connects to outside data

Claude reads external data through custom connectors, which point to remote MCP servers (if MCP is new to you, start with what MCP is and why it matters to marketing teams). According to Anthropic's help center, custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, and Free users are limited to one. Claude connects to the server from Anthropic's cloud, so the server has to be reachable on the public internet.

The three routes

Meta's own connector. Meta announced Ads AI Connectors in open beta on April 29, 2026, to create, manage and analyze campaigns from AI tools, including reporting, campaign management, catalog management and signal diagnostics. It covers Meta.

Google's open-source server. Google publishes a Google Ads MCP server that is read-only in its current release. You run it yourself, locally or on Cloud Run, with a Google Cloud project that has Google Ads API access and OAuth or service-account credentials. It covers Google Ads and needs someone comfortable with a developer setup.

A service that connects both. A single connector that already holds your Meta and Google accounts, plus your analytics and your store, lets Claude compare them in one answer. This is what Adray does, and it adds one thing the platform connectors cannot: each platform's claims arrive next to the orders your store actually settled, so Claude can see how much of each claim holds up.

Which one to pick depends on the question. If you only need Meta, Meta's connector is the obvious start. If your questions cross platforms, or ask what really sold, you need the data together. The rest of this tutorial uses Adray; the Claude side is the same for any remote MCP server.

Step 1: connect Meta Ads and Google Ads inside Adray

Create your Adray workspace and connect Meta Ads and Google Ads by signing in with each platform. You choose the ad accounts to include, and the platforms show you what access you are granting. If you also connect your store (Shopify, WooCommerce, VTEX or Magento) and GA4, Claude will be able to compare claims with orders; the full list is on the integrations page.

Step 2: add the connector in Claude

On an individual plan (Free, Pro or Max):

  • Open Claude and go to Customize > Connectors.
  • Click + and choose Add custom connector.
  • Type Adray as the name and paste https://adray.ai/mcp as the remote MCP server URL. The Claude page of your Adray dashboard has the same URL with a copy button.
  • Click Add.

On a Team or Enterprise plan, an Owner adds it once for the organization under Organization settings > Connectors (Add, then Custom, then Web, then the URL). Each member then finds it in Customize > Connectors and clicks Connect.

Step 3: authorize

Claude sends you to Adray to sign in and approve the connection. You are granting Claude access to what your Adray account can see, and you can revoke it at any time from either side. Claude never sees your Meta or Google password.

Step 4: turn it on in a conversation and ask

In a new conversation, click the + button at the lower left, open Connectors and switch Adray on. Then ask in plain language. Three good first questions:

  • "Summarize last week across Meta and Google: spend, sales and cost per sale by campaign, compared with the week before."
  • "Which campaigns increased spend but not sales in the last 14 days?"
  • "For last month, compare what Meta and Google each claim with the orders my store recorded."

We keep twenty more, with the data each one needs, in 20 prompts to analyze your campaigns with AI.

Step 5: check the numbers once

The first time, verify one figure by hand. Ask Claude for the date range, time zone and attribution setting of the data it used, open the same report in Ads Manager or Google Ads with the same settings, and compare. When they match, you know the connection is right. When they do not, the difference is almost always one of those three settings, and it is better to find that on day one than in a leadership meeting.

If something goes wrong

The connector does not appear in the conversation: it has to be switched on per conversation from the + menu. "Couldn't connect" when adding it: check the URL has no spaces or trailing characters. On a Team plan you cannot add it: only Owners can add connectors for the organization. Claude says it has no data for an account: that account was not selected when you connected the platform inside Adray.

Before you connect anything

A connector gives an AI assistant access to business data, and some connectors can also act on your accounts. Connect only servers from companies you trust, read the permissions requested during sign-in, and know what the provider does with your data. We go through the details in is it safe to give your marketing data to ChatGPT or Claude.

Common questions

Can I connect Meta Ads to Claude without a third-party tool?

Yes. Meta announced its Ads AI Connectors in open beta on April 29, 2026, to create, manage and analyze campaigns from AI tools. It covers Meta only, so Google Ads and your store's orders need a separate connection.

Does Google have an official Google Ads MCP server?

Yes. Google publishes an open-source Google Ads MCP server that is read-only in its current release. You run it yourself, locally or on Cloud Run, with a Google Cloud project that has Google Ads API access and OAuth or service-account credentials.

Do I need a paid Claude plan?

No. Anthropic's help center says custom connectors are available on Free, Pro, Max, Team and Enterprise plans, with Free users limited to one custom connector.

Can Claude change my campaigns once it is connected?

Only if the connector exposes action tools and you granted that permission. With Adray, campaign changes require a separate write permission from the read access used for analysis.

Why does Claude give me different numbers from Ads Manager?

Usually because the question and the report use different date ranges, time zones or attribution settings. Ask Claude to state the exact range, time zone and attribution setting of the data it pulled, then compare like with like.

How do I disconnect it?

In Claude, go to Customize > Connectors and remove the connector. You can also revoke access from the service's own settings. Either one stops Claude from reading the data.
